Our mission is to make financial planning accessible to everyone — free tools, accurate data, and educational resources without paywalls.
Editorial review last refreshed for 2026 statutory values (Apr 2026)
WealthCalc is a free, independent financial education platform that provides calculator tools and educational resources to help individuals make informed money decisions. We believe that access to quality financial planning tools should not be gated behind paywalls, registrations, or expensive software.
According to the FINRA Foundation's National Financial Capability Study, only about 34% of Americans can answer four out of five basic financial literacy questions correctly. WealthCalc exists to close that gap by making financial concepts tangible through interactive calculators and plain-language educational guides.
Why We Built WealthCalc
Most financial calculator websites are cluttered with ads, require personal information to generate results, or provide calculations without explaining the underlying concepts. We saw an opportunity to do better.
WealthCalc was founded with three goals in mind:
Make financial planning accessible. Every tool is free, requires no registration, and works instantly in your browser. Whether you are a college student creating your first budget or a professional planning for retirement, our tools adapt to your needs.
Educate, not just calculate. Each calculator is accompanied by in-depth guides that explain the financial concepts, formulas, and strategies behind the numbers. We want you to understand why the math works, not just see the result.
Provide accurate, current data. Our calculators use the latest tax brackets, contribution limits, and economic data from official government sources. We update our tools and content regularly to reflect new regulations and rates.
Our Methodology
Every calculator on WealthCalc is built using industry-standard financial formulas and verified against multiple authoritative sources. Here is how we ensure accuracy:
Amortization, compound interest, time value of money, and debt payoff calculations use formulas documented in financial textbooks and validated by institutions like the CFA Institute.
Single Source of Truth
Every 2026 statutory value lives in one centralized constants module, cited to its primary source. When the IRS, SSA, or FHFA publishes new figures, we update that single file and the change propagates across every calculator, article, and reference box — no stale numbers hiding in code.
Cross-Validation
Calculator outputs are tested against results from established financial tools and verified by hand calculations. Edge cases (zero inputs, very large numbers, boundary conditions) are specifically tested.
Editorial Standards
Our educational content follows strict editorial standards to ensure it serves our readers well:
Accuracy first. Every statistic, rate, and data point is sourced from official government agencies or reputable financial institutions. We cite our sources and link to primary data when possible.
No personalized financial advice. We provide educational information and tools to help you understand your options. We always recommend consulting with certified financial planners for decisions specific to your situation.
Transparency about limitations. Our calculators provide estimates based on the data you input and certain assumptions. We clearly state these assumptions on each calculator page and in our disclaimer.
Regular content reviews. Our guides and articles are periodically reviewed and updated to ensure the information remains current and accurate. Each article shows its last update date.
Independence. Our editorial content is not influenced by advertisers. Calculator results and educational guides are based solely on mathematical formulas and verified data.

Our Financial Review Process
Because WealthCalc publishes content in the “Your Money or Your Life” (YMYL) category, we hold ourselves to a rigorous review standard. Every calculator formula and educational article goes through a multi-step verification process:
Primary source verification. Tax rates, contribution limits, and benefit formulas are sourced exclusively from official government publications (IRS Revenue Procedures, SSA announcements, BLS data releases). We link to these sources in our code comments and methodology notes.
Formula validation. All financial calculations are cross-checked against CFA Institute curriculum formulas and validated with hand calculations for known scenarios.
Edge case testing. Calculators are tested with boundary conditions (zero inputs, maximum values, negative scenarios) to ensure they handle unusual inputs gracefully without producing misleading results.
Annual data refresh. When the IRS, SSA, or other agencies publish updated figures (typically in October–November for the following tax year), we update all affected calculators and content within the same release cycle.
Community feedback. We encourage users to report any discrepancies they find. Every report is investigated and corrections are deployed promptly.
